THE TOWNSHIP & THE QUEER MALE

Misinformation, limited information, and no information (these are the ingredients used to create the worst little boy…). Any one of these three is always the problem in my least favourite place, the township (ilokishi, ikasi, the ghetto), my home. It always has been a shame to be part of a group that has been misrepresented and shunned by the media, especially that of the past, considering that homeowners in the location are boomers, giving the youth teachings of their time. These groups include alternative black culture, the LGBTQI+ community, and anything that doesn’t seem to represent the past teachings.
With the internet as our friend, we find new information every day, and with this information, new topics are raised, and that is how Queer topics came into being in the township where one person said “hey, I know this is not normal, but I am attracted to the same sex, and not the opposite,” making more and more people come forward, and tell how they relate. Unfortunately, the township has been insisting that there can only be one sexuality, and that is only heterosexuality, I mean- there has been a bit of change in recent times, with the pseudo acceptance of gay people and lesbians, who can only be believed if the gay is feminine and the lesbian, masculine. Now, this makes things confusing, making THEIR sexuality more difficult to comprehend.
How does it make it difficult; you ask? Well, firstly, with the belief that gay men are feminine, the masculine get confused, like- “okay, why tf am I in the mood to suck dick?” and this is an honest question because the boy knows that he isn’t gay, he’s masculine, after all. Secondly, the bisexual man knows that he has been into girls his whole life, so why does he have a sudden crush on Jason Momoa? These are just one of the few examples I have, and it definitely leaves them no choice but to stay closeted, raising the talk that men have a gay side to them that they experiment with, making them send other men DM asking for manly nyash and blowjobs on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (I mean- I can give you a blowjob, I just don’t want you using me as an experiment, so move along). This is what I call The Township’s Closet, and I cannot really act like these men are at fault because they only lack information on who they really are. Another thing that contributes to keeping the closet closed is finding out when you get older that you’re actually not as straight as you thought you were. Imagine you grow up as straight as uncooked spaghetti, and all of a sudden you find yourself being as straight as cooked spaghetti, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Now, the task at hand is to break this to everyone and you decide not to because you’re afraid of judgement, making you lock the closet, and shove the key where the sun don’t shine (if that’s how you like it).
This is all just a part of the township, and you don’t have to break your back as it’s not your wrong, and this is the second part of the post.

Who you sleep with is only supposed to be your problem (also your partner’s because things can go South). You really don’t owe anybody an explanation unless you’re trying to get in their pants, and they should also get your point as you pursue them. If your problem with this is parents, they will probably wish you ill because they want grandchildren but it’s not like they are going to pay you for bringing any, and it’s also possible that they would hate the person you were going to have children with, making your efforts futile.
What I’m trying to say is that the township gives no choice when it comes to sexuality and this comes with a lot of problems, especially when people have to come out. The solution to this is not to come out, at all. Enjoy being Queer, this was brought to you by DPHTA.
