MAIN CHARACTER ENERGY
Let’s face it, we don’t always feel like we’re the protagonists, even if we know that our lives are our own stories. You do feel like an NPC sometimes but that’s only because you are in other people’s stories, trying to be their support system. NPC refers to a Non-Playable Character which everybody is in other people’s stories but that is only if you want to be but I’m here to talk you into being the Main Character.

What would you say defines Main Character energy? Well, here at DPHTA, we believe that being a main character is choosing your own path as a person, and the main reason to that is that we love Role Playing Games (started Fallout: New Vegas a short while ago). Being the main character in RPGs includes making your own choices without regret while making the experience fun and collecting dumb items that you probably will never use. So, the whole point of an RPG is to give a lifelike experience as you get to make decisions based on your emotions towards situations. This is all fun because you get to shoot whoever you want based on your values, steal some items because you feel the owners don’t deserve them or just being an asshole, but you do have to realise that whether you’re saving maidens, doing tasks for others, shooting good people for money and all that, it’s all starring energy because you’re doing what you want to do and it makes you feel good at that very moment so go ahead and look cool, and be happy. That’s what main characters do; they act to make themselves happy.
I have prepared some MC Energy songs for you so go ahead and be the badass you want to be.
Hayloft by Mother Mother.
Nothing screams badass like your daddy having a gun, knowing very well where it’s hidden, right? Right? Well, either way, Hayloft is an upbeat piece that gives off a kind chaotic energy that is somehow concerning but if you decide to show the world what you’re made of, who cares how much chaos ensues as a result of you coming back to life? (also, if you ever get in your villain arc, I definitely recommend it).
Umdlwembe by Zola
In video games, in order to get to the next part of the whole thing, you need to put up a fight, whether it’s normal opps or the big ones, hands have to be thrown, and that’s why Zola wrote and recorder Umdlwembe (to spit on the opps’ graves, duh). Umdlwembe is perfect for MC energy as you will have to assert dominance amongst the weak and let them know that you’re him. Burn the world down if you have to, it’s yours.
Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen
I swear to the skies that if Freddie Mercury lived in my timeline, I would feel like an NPC because how does an ordinary man be like that? That’s pure, raw and unprocessed MC energy and weirdly, I now associate anything that has to do with confidence with him (should’ve just called this piece Freddie Mercury Energy). I want DPHTA readers to be exactly like him, I want you to represent sass and flair in a gender neutral way because you definitely have to be a supersonic woman/man. This will hype you up.
Now, bang these and prepare yourself for the repercussions because what follows will be your will being done and you’ll have to live with it because you have always wanted to be that. Burn the world down.
